Ecuador Road Trip | Termas de Papallacta

Soaking in the natural hot springs at Termas Papallacta was heavenly, especially after spending the past few days in damp chilly places trying to keep warm by a fire. The rooms surround the pools of natural hot springs on the property so you literally walk right out your front door and step into a hot thermal bath – amazing!

Hot springs for soaking right outside the door of my little cabin.

There was a nice hiking trail near the lodge that I was able to enjoy both the evening when I arrived and the next morning before leaving.

I sat in this field for a long time watching the llamas – their faces are just so full of personality!

Trying to capture shots of these little hummingbirds was more challenging then a photo session chasing a one year old – they were zipping by my head like crazy!

This little guy on the other hand, was just hanging out eating breakfast from the nearby foliage.

Other than the hot soak and great nature walks, my favorite thing at Papallacta was the use of a hair dryer. It was the first place I have stayed in weeks where I could actually blow my hair dry. I’ve slowly gotten rid of extra weight in my suitcase along the way and I’m down to pretty much using sunscreen & bug spray for makeup and skin conditioner, no hair products, washing my clothes in the sink, and hoping they will at least be close to dry by the next morning. Trying to find that perfect balance between a life of simplicity and those creature comforts I still love.

I work with studio owners across dance, yoga, pilates, martial arts, photography, and creative businesses who are exceptional at what they teach and ready to build something solid underneath it. I also coach women navigating major life transitions who want a real plan and someone genuinely in their corner.

My background includes corporate management, building a dance studio from scratch and growing it to over 900 students, running a photography business across two states, yoga teacher training, and helping launch a yoga studio in Traverse City. I finished my college degree in my 50s and became a certified coach because helping people find their way forward is, quite simply, what I do best.

Every chapter of my life came with me into the next one. That's exactly how I work with clients too.

When I'm not coaching, I'm usually spending time with my husband Bill, taking a yoga class, hanging out with family and friends, or exploring and photographing the beauty of northern Michigan.
